Executive Director, Faculty of Medicine and Health Affairs
April Caluori

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of April Caluori as Executive Director, Faculty of Medicine and Health Affairs.

In this newly created position, April will provide strategic support to my portfolio as Vice Principal, Health Affairs and Dean of Medicine, in all matters relating to the operation of the Faculty. She will partner with me in developing our strategic planning and oversee its implementation to ensure alignment with both University and Faculty missions and objectives. April will also represent the interests of the Faculty on a range of committees within and beyond the University.

Prior to her appointment to this position, April performed key roles in many venues at McGill, where she has worked since 1978, when she started in what was then known as the Women’s Residence, Royal Victoria College, with a subsequent move to central Admissions. She gained a wealth of experience during the next ten years with the Faculty of Education in diverse areas including student affairs, faculty affairs, finance and human resources. She then moved to the Department of Human Resources, where she specialized in a variety of disciplines, including a secondment to the first exercise in pay equity, and then onto an appointment as HR manager for physical resources. Since 1998, April has been with the Faculty of Medicine, providing invaluable support as HR manager and most recently as director of Administration and Operations.

April specialized in HR after graduating from McGill with a certificate in human resources, then became a graduate of Queen’s with a certificate in labour relations and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international management at McGill University, in collaboration with Lancaster University in England and INSEAD in France.

Please join me in congratulating April Caluori upon her appointment as Executive Director, and in wishing her great success in her new role.
